Gujarat high court has rejected an appeal by opposition leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday to suspend his conviction in a defamation case. Mr Rahul Gandhi g one of the main prominent opposition leaders of the country was sentenced to two years in prison on 24 March 2023, in connection with a criminal defamation case against him over his alleged ‘Modi surname’ remark in 2019
His disqualification is a “politically motivated”, to silence his voice. Indian Government is attempting to suppress his voice by filing cases against Mr Rahul. Rahul Gandhi is seen as the most challenger to BJP led government. Even before his disqualification, the government was not allowing him to speak in parliament.
He raised various issues in parliament related to unemployment, inflation, borders, the curtailment of freedom of speech, BJP-led hate politics, and most importantly. He spoke on the looting of Indian wealth by Mr. Adani which BJP doesn’t allow him to speak on these issues. The Indian government is being accused of misusing law enforcement agencies such as Enforcement Directorate, which directly target opponents.
Last year, he led public rallies across 50 states and walked around 4,000KM over 150 days. This Gandhian-inspired journey promoted unity, peace & diversity for united, prosperous Indians. The journey has enhanced transformation within Indian people’s lives. His Yatra sees as guiding principles of truth and non-violence guide defending the Democratic rights of the people of India.
He has emerged as a popular figure among the Indian public, with people recognizing him as an epitome of love, compassion, brotherhood, and fearlessness. His weapons are solely truth and honesty. Engaged in politics, he engages with the public, meeting labourers, mechanics, traders, and farmers, empathizing with their challenges and offering them hope.
Recently, he travelled to Manipur, a region embroiled in ongoing tribal conflicts, advocating tirelessly for peace and harmony. Throughout the Bharat Jodo Yatra, he steadfastly carried forward his message, fostering unity and understanding. He will continue to walk on the path of truth and spread the message of love, compassion, and kindness
After being disqualified on 24 March, during his address Shri Rahul Gandhi g clearly stated that “I have been disqualified because the Prime Minister is scared of my next speech that is going to come on Adani. I have seen it in his eyes”. “Disqualify me, put me in jail, I will keep going “, he added.
Unfortunately, the judiciary system appears to be succumbing to the influence of oppressive regimes, delivering verdicts that unfairly target opposition leaders and politicians. This alarming trend raises concerns about the erosion of democracy and the impartiality of justice. Safeguarding the independence and integrity of the judiciary is crucial for upholding the principles of justice and protecting democratic values.
His unwavering commitment to caring for people and uplifting them is truly exceptional. He always advocates for the well-being & right of every individual and works tirelessly to spread love, non-violence message, truth, brotherhood, and peace throughout our community.
He has become an unstoppable force, no matter how much Indian Government tries to silence him, he will continue to speak for the people of India and fights for their rights.
