MULTAN: PPP leader and son of former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, Ali Musa Gilani has been arrested alongside 2 Pakistan People’s Party workers in Multan.
Initially, Multan Police was refusing to admit that they had arrested Ali Musa Gilani but later on, TPD Investigations Desk received a copy of the First Information Report (FIR) registered against Ali Musa Gilani.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari condemned the arrest.
“Arrest of PPP’s @SyedMusaGillani in the run up to PDM’s Multan jalsa shows regime is scared. They know people stand with democracy not with selected government. Such tactics will not deter us. Protest is our democratic right & we will do so on Nov 30th no matter what. #FreeMusa” the PPP chairman said.
This correspondent spoke with Kasim Gilani, the brother of Musa Gilani who said that he would brief the media of the details later on.
Taking to Twitter, Kasim Gilani, who is presently the chief coordinator of the PDM Multan Jalsa confirmed the arrest of his brother.
Later on, pictures of Musa Gilani in jail sprung up on social media.
Another brother of Musa, Ali Gilani tweeted that the ‘Selectors’ were afraid of the PDM Jalsa in Multan.
Kasim Gilani confirmed that the PDM Jalsa would go on despite such pressure building tactics.
