ISLAMABAD: Former Chairman of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority, Absar Alam has been shot outside his home by unknown assailants.
According to journalist Gharida Farouqi, Absar Alam is being treated in the hospital at the moment.
Absar Alam has often raised a voice for press freedom in Pakistan and had been summoned by the Federal Investigation Agency due to this tweets and activity on social media.
Journalist Asad Toor shared a video of Absar Alam being taken to the hospital.
In the video, Absar Alam said: “I want to send a message to the people who had me shot, I won’t lose hope.”
