ISLAMABAD: Authorities have sealed 62 schools and 15 hotels in the federal capital over violations of coronavirus related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
As coronavirus cases in the country continue to rise due to omicron variants, authorities have launched a crackdown against violators of SOPs issued by the government.
During the crackdown, several hotels were sealed and eight people were arrested.
On the other hand, Pakistan has reported 8 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 1,374,800. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 29,105 on Monday.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 7,195 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
