55th foundation day of PPP being observed today

KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is all set to observe the 55th foundation day of the party with renewed resolve to continue serving the people. Foreign Minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will address the public meeting scheduled to be held at the Nishtar Park today.

The party has made all arrangements for the political gathering at Nishtar Ground. PPP Sindh President Senator Nisar Khoro, Sindh Minister Saeed Ghani, and Waqar Mehdi visited the venue and reviewed the arrangements made to mark the ‘Youm-e-Tasees’ (anniversary of the founda­tion day).

Sindh Labour Minister Saeed Ghani was quoted as saying that the PPP used to hold a large public meeting to celebrate its foundation day. However, he added, this year public meetings are being held at district levels across the country to celebrate the PPP’s foundation day according to the directions given by the party leadership.

PPP senior leader Nisar Khoro was quoted as saying that all arrangements had been made for the political meeting held to observe the foundation day. He said Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will address the rally and also mention the political situation. He said the pledge of allegiance will be renewed and tributes will be paid to those who sacrificed their lives for the party.

PPP leader Sherry Rehman said the day recalled the PPP struggle and sacrifices made by the party heroes for the sake of democracy, public rights and prosperity.

Politics of hypocrisy inflicted big damage on the democratic drive, she said vowing to continue with the PPP movement for a better Pakistan.

The party leadership has laid stress on continuing the party mission for the supremacy of the constitution and strengthening democracy to ensure people’s rule in all the federating units.
