134 kilogrammes of Chars recovered from a private ambulance

QUETTA: At least 134 kilogrammes worth of high-quality Chars [hash] were recovered from a private ambulance that was transferring a coronavirus patient from Quetta to Karachi, Levies officials confirmed on Monday.

The illegally activity of supplying drugs surfaced after the ambulance collided with the Quetta-bound coach near Khad Kocha area of Mastung district.

Four members of a family, including the COVID-19 patient, were killed and three others sustained serious injuries.

According to levies officials, the hashish-smuggler was arrested following the recovery of harsh. The matter is being investigated and the driver will be grilled once he recovers.

The drugs was concealed in a secret compartment in the roof of the ambulance, which was transporting the COVID-19 patient from Quetta to Karachi.

“Hashish was packed in parcels weighing one kilogram which were concealed on the roof of the ambulance,” a senior official of the Mastung administration said, adding that the investigation is under process in this regard.
