DASKA: A 12 year old minor girl was abducted by Sialkot police for over two weeks before she was released to her parents.
In an exclusive conversation with The Pakistan Daily, Barrister Hassaan Khan Niazi said that the police was looking to arrest the girl’s uncle but took the minor girl as a hostage to recover the uncle.
“DPO Sialkot must be suspended for the abduction of this 12 year old girl. The girl’s uncle was accused of stealing 2.5 million rupees and was on the run from the authorities so the police took his 12 year old niece as a hostage for two weeks, she was returned to her parents only after we brought this matter to social media,” Barrister Hassan Khan Niazi told this correspondent.
Hassaan Niazi, who specialises in Human Rights Law held that the police has refused to take any action against the relevant police officers.
The Pakistan Daily reached out to the newly elected MNA from Daska, Ms Nosheen Iftikhar who confirmed that she would urgently act on this case and demand accountability for all the police officers involved.
Hassaan Niazi further confirmed that the girl had reached her parents after the issue was highlighted on social media, however, he said that the mother was begging to get a medical done for her daughter but the police officers were not cooperating in this regard.
